Since the mid 2000s simultaneously to my commissioned portraits I decided to devote myself to the study of the symptoms of contemporary individualism. Portraying men and women in their apparent uniqueness.
These portraits attempt to represent how those ordinary people have wanted to be unique, while conforming to standards.
And how the body pays the price of this contemporary obsession to give meaning to one's existence : through plastic surgery, tattoos, suffering afflicted by accidental desocialization, disguises and make believe, fame …
I therefore place portraiture, duality and artifice at the heart of my researches.
